Greetings everyone and happy Sunday! How has everyone’s past week been? Things have been great this week–busy, but great. I’ve actually been relatively social this week in attending a going away dinner party for a coworker and meeting up with a friend for some NaNoWriMo prep!
That’s right, friends. I am finally participating in National Novel Writing Month! I’ve said I was going to for the last five years at least and never did but it feels like a good time to try it.
I am currently posting this while I am out of town… I am seeing the Dalai Lama speak today on Secular Ethics in Our Time as part of Birmingham Human Rights Week!
I have been listening to The Invention of Wings on audiobook for about a week or so now. I have to say that I am really enjoying it! Jenna Lamia narrates the voice of Sarah Grimke (as well as many others) and she is positively amazing. I can even tell a difference when Sarah has grown up a bit.
I am nearly finished and this story might be my favorite of the year so far.
New On My Shelf
I recently snagged a copy of Writer’s Guide to Character Traits which is a completely awesome book for writing! Plus, I picked up a $2 copy of Dracula and a $3 copy of Revolutionary Road with some of my remaining store credit from 2nd & Charles. :)
Is anyone else participating in NaNoWriMo??
