Top 10 Favorite Classics
This may have been the easiest top ten for me yet! These are all some of my most favorite books. I even have a tattoo of a quotation from one of them. You can guess which!
- Slaughterhouse-five by Kurt Vonnegut
- The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
- Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
- Lolita by Vladimir Nobokov
- Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
- The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
- The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
- One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
- Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
- The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe
Yay for Rebecca and The Great Gatsby being on your list!

I love ‘The Great Gatsby’, it made my list too. And Marquez’ books are all incredible. :)

Terrific picks! I love that you included The Outsiders. For my list I looked for classics you might not have heard of.

I still have to read many of these but The Bell Jar stands out among the rest of books I want to read most!

Well, I’ve read 5 of these 10 so I admire your choices. For me this would be a much harder decision but I do like yours also.

There are definitely a few of these I’d like to read, especially The Bell Jar and Fahrenheit 451. And everyone I know keeps telling me I have to read The Outsiders! Great choices!

I have One Hundred Years of Solitude sitting on my bookshelf. I know a lot of people love it, but it seems like a big investment!

It really is. I will be honest in saying it took more than one or two tries before I finally committed to it and trucked through a good portion of it. I think one of the most difficult things for me was that there are so many characters with the same name (as a family of descendants) that it was confusing. I spent a lot of time flipping back to that family tree in the front!
